Meet The Founder

We Don’t Give Fish But Teach People How to Fish

Radha Goenka, Founder - Pehlay Akshar Foundation

Radha is a philanthropist, mom and passionate writer. Her work focuses on empowering women, youth and children through education and vocational training to help them find meaningful employment.

She joined the social sector in 2008, when, looking at the disparity in the quality of education between private and Government schools. Radha felt the need to develop a program that is designed for 1st generation learners, focuses on tapping a child’s natural curiosity and builds critical thinking and communication skills.

She founded Pehlay Akshar Foundation, fuelled by her deep conviction that education imparted in the correct way and in the right environment, and a grounding in Functional English, can make a significant difference.

Radha’s degree in Business Communication from the University of Pennsylvania and experience in the social sector has helped shape, expand and enrich the programs and organisations she leads, making them a powerful element in her overarching mission to drive employment and transform lives in India.
