English Room on Wheels (ERW) is our flagship initiative launched in 2024 across Thane, Palghar, and Pune. It is a mobile learning unit designed to bring interactive, activity-based English sessions to schools and communities that need them the most. Through engaging and experiential learning methods, ERW helps students strengthen their language skills while also building confidence, creativity, and collaboration.

About the Program

English Room on Wheels (ERW) is an innovative, mobile learning initiative designed to help children develop confidence in English while nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a growth mindset. The program brings together the strengths of Pehlay Akshar Foundation’s English Room and Teacher Training models, creating joyful and meaningful learning experiences within school premises.

Through storytelling, interactive activities, and volunteer engagement, ERW strengthens students’ English skills while building essential 21st-century competencies such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Teachers are integral to the program and are continuously supported and trained to sustain and scale the impact in their classrooms.

Alongside the mobile model, Pehlay Akshar Foundation has established permanent English Rooms in Thane and Pune, while other schools are equipped with ERW Boxes, portable learning kits that bring the English Room experience to every school.
