From Learning Words to Healing Hands

In a narrow lane of Worli, where the sea air mingles with the sound of school bells and distant traffic, there grew a girl who watched the world with careful attention. Khushi Gupta was not the loudest voice in her classroom at Worli Seaface English Municipal School. She preferred observation to display, reflection to noise. Yet behind her quietude lay a mind curious about how things worked—how bones moved, how muscles healed, how the human body endured and recovered.

Language once felt like an obstacle; science, however, felt like discovery.

Through steady encouragement in her formative years, she found confidence in expression, but it was in the study of science that her imagination truly stirred. Diagrams of the skeletal system fascinated her. Lessons on respiration and circulation were not mere chapters to memorise but intricate stories of life itself. She began to see healthcare not as a distant profession, but as a calling grounded in knowledge and compassion.

After completing Grade 10, Khushi pursued her higher secondary education at Sophia College, choosing the science stream with quiet determination. In 2023, rather than rushing ahead, she devoted a year to disciplined preparation for competitive examinations, including the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, earning a commendable percentile. Alongside, she completed the Maharashtra State Certificate in Information Technology, strengthening her digital foundation.

For a year, she taught science at a coaching class—an experience that sharpened both her subject knowledge and her ability to explain complex ideas with clarity. Teaching revealed to her the quiet satisfaction of guiding others, much like a healer reassures a patient—with patience, steadiness, and care.

Her interest gradually settled on physiotherapy: a field where science meets service, and healing is measured not only in reports, but in restored movement and renewed hope.

Today, Khushi has secured admission to the Asian Institute of Medical Sciences to pursue Physiotherapy. From a thoughtful girl in Worli to a young woman preparing to mend weary limbs, her journey reflects diligence, discipline, and a heart inclined toward healing.
